blessed people.

This week marked our fifth month of living in England. That's five months without:

our families,
the majority of our friends,
a walmart,
a target,
a bed bath and beyond,
good Mexican food - wait - good food period,
normal television,
American roads,
or American time zones.

BUT I have to say we're blessed. In these five months:

we have been on more road trips than we have in the four years we've known each other,
we have seen amazing places,
we have learned to rely solely on each other,
we've figured out how to drive on the other side of the road,
we've memorized British currency,
we have mastered bringing our dogs into the UK (with some help from my mama!),
we've learned what a Tesco's is,
we have laughed harder than ever before,
we have cooked at home more often than not,
we've fallen more in love with each other,
we have made some fabulous friendships,
but most importantly we have seen the faithfulness of God and the importance of a prayerful heart.

We have discovered that there is alot to living in the UK that no one warns you about. No one tells you how inconvenient life is without a Walmart. Everyone leaves out that fact that traveling on a British economy is rather expensive. They don't want you to know that in the summer time your house will be infested with flies and it will seem as though you live in a third world country. You wouldn't want to know that in the winter time there is only 6-7 hours of daylight. If they told you how annoying not having closets is - you wouldn't want to leave yours. They could even forget to tell you how a day trip to London makes all this seem petty - I've figured that out on my own. They probably won't mention that leaving all your friends behind sucks - but it's only God's way of opening doors to new friendship. The best part is, you can keep all your old friendships!

So when I get home sick, annoyed at the inconvenient way of life, or just bored of the four walls of our house I do something like this:

I take the Tube to London to stand in front of the Towers Bridge to let my husband take a picture.

Then of course, I take a picture of him.

I convince myself to get on something like this..

to see a view like this....

I definitely take the cheesy phone booth picture with Sharron [my friend I met because God is good in England too!]

I feast my eyes on Buckingham Palace..

Then do a Charlies Angel's pose on its lawn.

I discover that there's a China Town in London.

That these are being replaced by newer, uglier, not nearly as cool, more modern buses.

And I use my cell phone's "Sat Nav" to find this..

Then I take the Tube back home, and am thankful for our cute little bungalow we call home. I can face the world again, and am thrilled to be living in the UK.

"He never said it would be easy, He only said it would be worth it."

Our God is an awesome God, and He has shown Himself to us in a whole new way in the last five months.

We are blessed people.

Texas.

Oh how i miss your
wide roads,

yummy restaurants,

fabulous stores,

and america currency.

I miss every family member that resides in the United States of America. I miss driving four hours and being in the city I call home. I miss being in the same time zone. I am ever so ready for a trip home.. and am looking forward to enjoying everything Texan.

In the mean time.. We'll continue to make amazing memories as a couple. We'll drive on roads no one in Texas would believe two cars could fit on. We'll go to London for the day - to lay our eyes on things like Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London/the Towers Bridge, the London Eye, Big Bend, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Hard Rock Cafe - London - just to name a few. We'll eat at pubs, drink pints, and enjoy ourselves. We'll shop at markets for delicious teas and fresh fruit. And pay pounds for everything British.

traveling huddlestons.

hi friends! I hope that you are all doing well! We are wonderful! Fall is here, and I couldn't be more thrilled to actually live somewhere with four seasons! It's beautiful! Jery completed his FTD course last month, which helped him become more familiar with the plane he's working on! And I am applying for a new job! I really do enjoy my job, but it has nothing to do with my career field. So when word got to me that they were hiring at the school, I jumped on it! I won't know until sometime next month, but I am looking forward to hearing back from them! Now for the pictures.. because lets be honest - that's the fun part anyway!

Our squadron held their annual spouse's day and took us up on one of the planes!

Here's our chalk getting ready to go!

We were flying over water so we had to wear life vests and on top of that it was flippin cold! So here we are all bundled up and strapped in!

I mentioned before that I had seen the Dover Cliffs twice, this was my second time! They opened up the back hatch of the plane and let us crawl out to the edge and hang our feet off as we flew over the cliffs and the channel at 10,000 feet!

It was such an awesome experience!!

Mid September our friend had her baby boy and this little girl became a big sister! We got to watch her for the two days her mom was in the hospital.. and had way to much fun spoiling her!!

And here's the precious baby brother!

We embarked on our first overnight adventure to see the city of Bath and Stonehenge! Here's the Roman Baths - where thousands of years ago the Romans took their baths..

My sweet husband standing above the main bath.

Directly behind the Roman Baths was the Bath Abbey.. another beautiful cathedral!

The Romans discovered a natural hot spring and used it to create this incredible bath house.. this is the hot spring - still today you can see the water bubbling to the surface.

Jery and A standing in front of the Romans' drain.. incredible engineering given the time it was built in..

Here's A and I on the Bath level..

And us standing in front of the main bath..

We left bath and headed back to the hotel.. and stopped at this little pub to eat dinner! Jery and I's first pub experience! And it was so yummy!!

Here's Miss A at Stonehenge talking on her "phone".. they gave us all audio devices to listen to as we walked around.

Here I am standing in front of the stones.. completely incredible! This was also where I learned I need to invest in a winter coat!!!!

Here we are standing in front of the stones..

Stonehenge.. in all it's glory!

Jery and Tank in front of Stonehenge..

Here we are with all of Stonehenge in the background!

The girls (and baby A) in front of Stonehenge.. I stole Jery's coat I was so cold!

We are beyond blessed to be living in such an incredible part of the world. There are endless possibilities, and we look forward to our next sightseeing adventure!
